Liveaboard, Travel, & Boat Projects
“Salt” and “Sun”: two things that sailors love and hate.
This blog is a documentation of liveaboard, travel and boat project adventures. New posts every Monday!
On a balmy February in Baltimore in 2017, a friend took us out on his sailboat and Josh was instantly hooked. He was looking to transition from land life to boat life and embrace the minimalist lifestyle. Emily was hesitant and insisted she wouldn’t be spending much time at the marina, but found herself there more often than not. In 2019 she moved aboard and preparations began to leave Baltimore. They sailed down the east coast of the U.S., over to the Bahamas and back across to Florida to settle down in Miami to go back to school and continue working. In 2024, they decided to leave Miami and sail up to Maine and start to look for the next “home” base.
8 years of boat life and counting!
Frea is a Formosa 51 currently located in Maryland. She is the main home and adventure boat. She is referred to as “the big boat.”
Bequia Chief is a Duncan 45 currently located in Florida. She is referred to as “the project boat.”
In the picture on the left, Frea is the one in background and Chief is the one in the foreground. Together they are our Taiwanese Twins.
