Yosemite day 3. Tunnel View, Glacier Point, Taft Point
After a full day of hiking, but still feeling like we needed to see more, we decided to do some evening/night sight seeing.
We drove to tunnel view on a winding road. From here you can see one of the most famous views of the valley that includes el cap, bridalveil, and half dome.
We then moved on to glacier point. By that time it was an hour to sunset and the tourists were milling around trying to find the perfect photographic location. Funniest thing I saw was a couple with a cooking stove, ready to heat their dinner right there. We took some quick photos and hurried over to taft point.
Apparently taft point is the place to take wedding and engagement photos. We followed one couple on the trail and when we got to taft we saw another couple on the edge. Talk about a million mosquitos! Of course as I’m about to put bug spray on, I get a bite on my face.
We missed the actual sun set, but we did wait till it got almost completely dark so we could try to see some stars. #worthit. We followed a group of people back to the car park. Good thing we did because the only light was the light from our head lamps. A deer crossed our path and I almost freaked out thinking it was a more ferocious animal. Strength in numbers!
We got back after midnight. We were so tired that even the noisy group of campers next to us couldn’t prevent us from passing out in our tents.
